PRACTICE OVERVIEW

Clinica Maskaras was formed in 1987 when a visionary group of doctors, responding to a social need, got together to fulfill a lack of medical services in the Chapala/Lakeside area. At that time, the local medical facilities included only general physicians, the Red Cross and a few small clinics, without access to any specialties. This is when Dr. Carlos Garcia and other specialists decided to work together to resolve these needs:

• The difficulty of traveling more that 45 km's to Guadalajara

  • Negotiating city traffic
  • Getting lost/Unfamiliar with the city
• The need for 24 hour medical assistance
• The need for emergency services to stabilize a patient for safe transport
• The assurance that the proper specialist will be waiting for the patient upon arrival

The Chapala/Lakeside area is a community of people where different cultures live together. One culture being the local Mexican community and the other, a large foreign retirement community who may be unfamiliar with the local language and/or customs. These include the United States, Canada, England, Spain, Scotland, Argentina, France, Germany, Switzerland and more.

Our doctors on staff at Clinica Maskaras are Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Cardiology, Traumatology, Orthopedics, Speech Therapy, Dermatology, Plastic Surgery, Ophthalmology, Angiology, Gynecology & Obstetrics, Gastroenterology, Urology, Radiology, Anesthesiology, General Surgery and Dentistry.

Clinica Maskaras consults with the following specialists:

Emergency or outpatient surgeries are performed at Maskaras Clinic. Emergency admissions are stabilized at Maskaras Clinic. After stabilization, the Maskaras Clinic doctors will have you transferred to Guadalajara by ambulance, where appropriate specialists will be awaiting your arrival.
